Relaxation Mandala #1 - Free Coloring Page

A lotus seen from the side holds the centre of this printable mandala: pointed petals layered over one another, the tallest standing upright in the middle. Around it sits a ring of scrolls and small clusters of dots, then a band of paisley teardrops coiled into spirals. Next comes a ring of almond shapes, each holding a leafy sprig. The outer band repeats that motif at a larger scale — broad pointed ovals each containing a frond, separated by clean lines. Two concentric circles close the page.

The lotus petals are by far the largest areas in the design, and the surrounding bands grow steadily finer toward the edge.

Begin with the lotus. Its broad petals take a gradient perfectly, and you can layer two or three close tones without any risk of straying over a line. Once the centre is settled, the outer bands colour almost mechanically, one motif after another — which is exactly what makes this page a restful one. Print it at A4 on paper of at least 120 gsm if you are working with markers, and the ink will not bleed through.
