Spring Mandala #7 - Free Coloring Page

At the centre of this mandala, a small round rosette opens into a large eight-petalled flower, each petal separated by a slender curling spiral. A wide band of foliage surrounds it: winding stems, toothed leaves, small flowers, clusters of round berries and acorn-shaped drops repeat all the way around, and eight butterflies with spotted wings rest among the leaves. A ring of narrow, teardrop-shaped petals stands like rays before a braided ribbon border set with small flowers, and two fine concentric lines close the circle.

The line stays thin and even, but the spaces it encloses are tiny: every berry, every dot on a butterfly wing and every link of the braid forms its own little zone. Only the eight central petals and the braided band offer larger, easier areas. This mandala coloring page suits an experienced hand and takes several hours spread over more than one sitting.

A fine liner or a sharp coloured pencil keeps the small berry circles and wing dots clean; start with the wide central petals before tackling the braided border, the most delicate part of the drawing. For this printable mandala, choose A4 paper of at least 200 gsm so that markers do not bleed through the sheet.
