At the center sits a classic yin-yang: the black half carries stylized clouds and two small suns, the white half a coiled dragon with a scaled body, alongside a sun and a starred crescent moon. A ring of large lotus petals surrounds it, followed by a band of tight spirals, then a ring of eight yin-yang medallions linked by ribbons. A clean double circle closes the design.

The black half of the yin-yang is already solid ink, so there's nothing to color there; the real work is the dragon, the white-reserved clouds, and the outer rings. The petals give wide surfaces easy to fill with marker, while the spiral band and the medallions demand a tighter line. This printable mandala suits an experienced colorist, good for two to three hours.

Start with the petals and outer ribbon before the dragon's scales and the spiral band, the finest parts of the drawing, where a 0.3 mm fineliner keeps ink from bleeding past the lines.
