Autumn Mandala #15 - Free Coloring Page

At the center of this mandala, a small blank circle bursts into a sun: a crown of slender flame-like points radiates outward like petals. Six coiled spirals encircle that sun, separated by dense clusters of oak leaves, acorns, curling tendrils and scattered dots. Near the rim, a ring of ridged little pumpkins lines the whole circumference, before the outer edge closes on a clean, continuous circle.

The line stays fine throughout, but density shifts sharply from one zone to another: the pumpkins offer large round surfaces that fill in quickly, while the central foliage breaks into many tight little cells. That contrast suits an already confident colorist, ready to spend an hour or two on the busiest sections. The six spirals lend themselves well to a gradual shading from center outward.

Start with the pumpkins and spirals, which forgive a wandering line, before tackling the central foliage with a fine liner or a well-sharpened pencil, the only tools that can follow the narrowest curls.
