A serpentine dragon fills the center of this mandala, its scaled body coiled around itself, head turned to the right with jaws open, visible fangs, a flowing mane and long whiskers. Small cloud-shaped swirls fill the gaps between the coils. This central medallion is ringed by a Greek key meander band, then a wreath of open peonies, toothed leaves and small round beads linked by curling stems, before a wide sawtooth triangle border closes the design inside a clean double circle.

The linework is fine and even, tightening further across the dragon's scales and the outer triangles, leaving little room for broad, loose strokes. This mandala coloring page suits hands already used to detailed work rather than a first attempt, and takes two to three hours to complete.

Start with the dragon's scales using a sharpened pencil or a 0.3mm fine liner, then move to the triangle border, which needs the same precision; save the dragon's whiskers and the floral scrollwork, the most delicate parts, for last.
