Dragon Mandala #6 - Free Coloring Page

At the center of this printable mandala, a small eight-pointed star surrounds a scatter of dots and dashes, like flecks of light. A ring of heart-shaped petals opens around it, followed by a second ring of teardrops whose tips curl into spirals. A thin double circle separates this medallion from a denser third ring, where pointed leaves alternate with sinuous, scale-like shapes. A last ring of broad scrolls runs just inside the edge, closed off by two clean circles.

The linework stays fine and tight all the way through the third ring, with many small lace-like spaces to fill; the outer ring, with its wider scrolls, gives the eye a rest. This mandala coloring page suits a hand already used to detailed work, for a session of ninety minutes to two hours.

Start with the central star, the finest part, before fatigue sets in; keep a 0.3-0.5 mm fineliner for the dots at the heart and a broader pencil for the outer scrolls. This printable mandala works well on A4 paper of at least 160 gsm, thick enough to stop markers bleeding through.
