Winter Mandala #19 - Free Coloring Page

Six thin branches fan out from a dendritic snowflake at the middle of this mandala, with four small animal silhouettes tucked close around it. A crown of long pointed rays, each tipped with a bead, spreads outward like a sun made of ice, followed by a ring of fir sprigs alternating with stars. A band of large spirals sits next to rounded shapes and small trees, and the outer edge lines up dozens of tiny bears, deer, snowflakes and stars before a double circle closes the design.

The line stays fine throughout but tightens hard in that outer band, where the small creatures and snowflakes leave barely any room to fill. The spirals and the central snowflake, by contrast, offer wide open areas. This mandala coloring page suits someone comfortable with small detail, and rewards a long sitting - closer to two or three hours than a quick break.

Work the central snowflake and the spirals before tackling the rays and the border, where a fine liner or a sharply sharpened pencil keeps the tiny shapes from blurring together. For this printable mandala, print at A3 and use paper of at least 200gsm so the finest lines stay crisp.
