A central star, heart-shaped petals, and a braided border.
A six-pointed star sits at the centre, ringed by a thin circle lined with small pointed hearts. Around it winds a band of scroll-like spirals, then eight large heart- or flame-shaped petals, each one filled with more scrollwork and separated by a smaller heart and a dot. The design closes with a tight braided band, framed by a clean double circle.
The line stays fine and even all the way to the edge: the scrolls inside the petals and the strands of the outer braid break the page into many small spaces to fill, while the open centre gives the eye a rest.
