This abstract mandala works entirely through interlacing lines rather than petals: a tiny cross-shaped knot with tight loops sits at the center, ringed by eight small twin spirals. A thin circle separates that core from a second band where the strands weave into repeating heart and wave shapes, echoed eight times around. A third, wider band scales the same interlace up, with long hook-like loops threading into one another all the way to the edge, which closes on a plain double circle line, without beads or scalloping.

The line stays fine and even throughout, but the cells it encloses are tiny in the two inner rings - barely a few millimeters at full size - while the outer band opens into somewhat roomier loops. This printable mandala suits an experienced colorist; plan on two to three hours to fill it cleanly, more if you want to shade each strand of the knotwork individually.

Start with the central knot and the spiral ring while your hand is steadiest, using a sharpened colored pencil rather than a marker, which would flood the smallest cells.
