Zentangle Mandala Coloring #1 - Free Coloring Page

The outer edge of this mandala doesn't close into a smooth ring: it ends in sharp triangular points, like a cut gem, framing a band of faceted diamonds dotted with tiny circles and buds where eight dragonflies with finely lined wings perch. Inside that band, curling scrollwork spirals sweep into wide waves, and at the very center sits a small eight-petalled flower, ringed by a larger four-lobed bloom whose heart-shaped lobes are packed with slender petals.

Line weight stays fine throughout, but cell size varies sharply: the central petals and the scrolling waves give broad, quick-to-fill areas, while the dragonfly wings and the diamond band call for a very fine tip. This mandala coloring page suits someone already comfortable with busy patterns; expect two to three hours to complete the sheet.

Start with the large center and the scrollwork using a broad marker or pencil, then switch to a fine liner for the dragonfly wings and the diamond border, the most delicate parts of the design. For this printable mandala, print on A4 or letter-size paper of at least 200gsm so marker ink won't bleed through to the next sheet.
