Floral Hummingbird Mandala #36 - Free Coloring Page

A hummingbird with outstretched wings sits at the center of the mandala, surrounded by scrollwork and a small flower. The central medallion is framed by a double circular line, then by a ring of pointed petals arranged like a rosette. A band of fine diamond lattice dotted with tiny points surrounds it, where four small birds nestled in foliage alternate with full-blown roses and leaves. A narrow row of lace-like points follows, then a twisted, braided ribbon, and finally two thin, clean circles that close the design.

Linework stays fine and dense throughout, especially across the hummingbird's feathers and the diamond lattice, leaving little open space to fill. The roses and leaves in the outer ring offer somewhat larger areas. This mandala coloring page suits colorists already comfortable with intricate detail, more teens and adults than young children, and takes roughly two to three hours to finish with care.

A fine liner or a sharpened pencil handles the tight diamond compartments and the hummingbird's small feathers, the most delicate parts, better than a broad marker. Starting with the central bird, then the petal ring, before moving on to the roses and outer birds helps keep a steady rhythm. For this printable mandala, A4 or A3 paper of at least 200gsm keeps markers from bleeding through.
