An owl's face with black-eyed stare inside a leaf-bordered mandala.

At the center of this mandala an owl looks straight out: two large round eyes with solid black pupils, a triangular beak, and two pointed tufts rising above its head. The facial disc is etched with fine radiating lines and small spirals, and the chest below is covered in rows of rounded, scalloped feathers. A four-pointed, diamond-shaped frame wraps directly around the bird. Two rings surround it in turn: a narrow band of small pointed leaves separated by dots, then a wider band of larger leaves each marked with a central vein. The outer edge closes with a clean double circle.

The linework tightens toward the center - the radiating strokes of the facial disc and the tiny spirals on the chest - then opens up in the outer leaf band. That contrast suits anyone who has already tried a mandala coloring page, from detail-comfortable teens to adults looking for a slow, focused session; plan on a good hour to finish the whole piece.

Start with the outer ring of large leaves using markers or a broad pencil tip, then switch to a fine liner for the facial disc and the chest spirals, the most delicate parts of the drawing; the pupils are already solid black and need no color. For this printable mandala, use A4 paper at around 200gsm so marker ink won't bleed through.
