Art Nouveau Mandala #14 - Free Coloring Page

A scalloped edge, shaped by the curling tips of large Art Nouveau scrolls, encloses this mandala rather than a plain circle. Working inward, that outer scroll band gives way to a dense strip of lace-like openwork studded with tiny circles, then to a ring of eight heart-shaped medallions, each carrying a small diamond mark. Eight slender teardrops point toward the middle, closing around a minute toothed rosette barely bigger than a bead at the very center.

The line stays thin from the heart of the piece out to the scrollwork at the rim, so nearly every area to fill is small rather than broad. The heart medallions and the teardrops around them ask for the steadiest hand; the outer scrolls open up a little and go faster. This printable mandala suits someone already comfortable with detailed coloring pages, and takes three to four unhurried hours to complete.

Fine-tip pens or sharply pointed pencils handle the diamonds and teardrops at the center far better than broad tips, so it's worth tackling those first, before the hand tires on the wide outer curls.
