Zentangle Mandala #17 - Free Coloring Page

This mandala opens on an eight-pointed star tucked inside a small rosette with rounded petals. Eight zigzag, chevron-striped petals surround it, followed by a ring of overlapping heart-shaped petals. Next comes a dense band of fine radiating lines, feather-like, scattered with small round floral motifs, then a row of upright pointed leaves set between tiny spirals. Two thin circles precede the outer edge: a scalloped border of rounded, overlapping petal shapes that ripples all the way around.

The line stays fine throughout, tightening further in the band of radiating feathers and its small round motifs, which leave only tiny surfaces to color. The chevron petals and the ring of hearts offer more room for color. This mandala coloring page suits colorists used to dense designs, ready to spend several sittings on it.

On this printable mandala, start with the chevron petals and the heart-shaped ring, easier to isolate, before tackling the feathered band with a fine liner or a sharply sharpened pencil to keep the tight hatching clean. Save the scalloped border for last, since its broad curves let you breathe. For printing, choose A3 paper at least 200gsm so the finest lines stay crisp.
