A spiral tree ringed by fans, waves and Japanese cranes.
At the center of this mandala sits a stylized tree with curling, spiral branches, small five-petaled blossoms, and roots drawn at the base of a plain circle. A thin band of pointed petals alternating with small rounded clouds wraps around that central medallion. Beyond it, a wide ring split into eight segments by radial lines each holds a folding Japanese fan patterned with scalloped waves and stippled texture, separated from the next by a spray of blossoms. A double circular line marks the shift to the outer ring, also divided into eight sections by small scroll motifs, where a pair of cranes flies in each one. The border closes with two clean, fine concentric circles, no beading or cut edge.
Line density shifts sharply between rings: the central tree has large, simple curves suited to a child or a beginner, while the fan ring packs in tiny stippled cells and tight wave lines that call for a steady hand. The crane ring, with its detailed feathers, sits in between in fineness. This mandala coloring page can take several sittings — roughly three to six hours depending on how much care goes into the smallest details.
Start with the central tree to warm up before tackling the fan ring, the most delicate part with its tight stippling: a sharpened colored pencil or a fine liner will hold those small cells better than a broad marker, which would bleed across them. For this printable mandala, print at A4 on paper of at least 200gsm so ink doesn't soak through during long coloring sessions.
