Tree of Life Mandala #12 - Free Coloring Page

At the center, a single trunk splits into two twisting trunks that dive into a tangle of knotted roots, almost a Celtic knot, beneath a crown of spiral branches, leaves and a few round apples. Around this circle run a band of petals, a ring of foliage and small flowers, a ring of triangles and small symbols, then a border of pointed arches before the two thin outer circles.

The line stays fine throughout, leaving little open space: the foliage spirals and the small symbols in the rings call for a fine point, while only the root knotwork and the wide arches at the edge give room to breathe. This mandala coloring page suits hands used to detail, patient teens or adults, for a session of three to five hours depending on how carefully the four bands are handled.

A fine liner or gel pen works better than a broad marker for the tiny apples and the symbols in the rings; colored pencils are enough for the wide arches at the border. Start with the roots, which are broader, before tackling the foliage spirals. For this printable mandala, an A3 sheet on paper of at least 200 gsm keeps fine markers from bleeding through.
