Winter Mandala #9 - Free Coloring Page

A jagged band of triangles frames this winter mandala, and just inside it walk polar bears among bare branches and pine trees, snowflakes scattered between them. Move inward past a thin ring of tick marks to a continuous strip of pines, pinecones and snowflakes, then a corona of heart-shaped scallops sheltering small trees. A rosette of twelve pointed petals surrounds the true center: a six-branched snowflake, finely open-worked.

Line weight stays fine throughout, but tightens hard in the bear band and the tick-mark ring, where every snowflake and triangle is tiny. The central rosette and the scalloped arches, by contrast, offer wide, easy-to-fill shapes. This mandala coloring page suits an experienced colorist rather than a beginner; expect several sittings to finish the outer band alone.

Start with the central rosette and the large arches before tackling the bears and snowflakes, which reward a sharpened pencil or a 0.3mm fineliner over broad markers. Printed as a printable mandala, this design holds up best on A3 paper at 200gsm or heavier — shrunk to A4, the border's triangles and tick marks would blur into a grey smudge.
