At the centre, a small rosette of rounded petals surrounds a dot, itself set inside a larger flower with teardrop-shaped petals. Both rosettes sit inside a wide circle of scrolling spirals and pointed leaves, punctuated by four small flowers on three-dot stems. A ring of pointed petals closes the pattern, edged by a thin circle of dots and dashes.

The line work is fine and the small zones are numerous, especially in the scroll band and along the dotted rim: this mandala coloring page rewards a steady hand with a pencil or a fine-tip marker, since the tiny petals leave little room for error. The broad outer leaves and lotus petals offer more generous areas to fill. It suits a colourist already comfortable with detail and takes two to four hours depending on how many shades are used.

Start at the centre, the simplest part, before tackling the scroll band, the most demanding with its three-dot flowers and fine hatching near the top petals. A fine-tip marker or a hard pencil lead handles these narrow zones better than a broad tip.
