At the center of this mandala, a smiling sun with round eyes and rosy cheeks is ringed by pointed rays that fan out like a star. Around it, a band of alternating triangles carries different fillings: stripes, polka dots, four-petal flowers, zigzags and stars. Further out, scalloped clouds alternate with clusters of round bubbles, before a last ring of larger triangles filled with spirals, zigzags, dots and hearts tucked into the four corners, all closed off by a plain, clean circle.

The linework is bold and clean, sized for young hands: the sun's rays and the big outer triangles give wide, easy spaces to fill, while the patterned collar ring - stripes, flowers, dots - asks for steadier, more careful strokes. For this printable mandala, use medium felt tips on the sun, clouds and hearts, then switch to fine-tip pencils for the small flowers, dots and spirals in the inner ring, the fussiest part to color. Use A4 paper of at least 200gsm so marker ink won't bleed through.
