A smiling sun face — open eyes, arched eyebrows, round cheeks — sits at the center of the mandala. Long triangular rays fan out around it, alternating with small heart-and-scroll motifs and trios of dots. A thin double circle separates this sunburst ring from a wide outer band where five-pointed stars, small hearts and crescent moons repeat in sequence. The design closes on a clean double-line circle at the very edge.

The linework stays fine throughout, but the size of the spaces changes: the face and the sun's rays give large areas that are easy to fill, while the band of stars, hearts and crescents forces small, tightly packed shapes. This mandala coloring page suits children for the center, and steadier hands for the outer ring. Expect about 45 minutes for the sun alone, closer to 90 for the whole piece.

Start with the face and rays using a broad marker or crayon, then switch to a fine pen for the stars and crescents so the small outlines don't blur together — the trios of dots between the rays are the trickiest spot.
