Eight-point interlaced star ringed by hearts, spirals and pleated fans

At the center of this mandala, a small pointed rosette forms a miniature star, framed by a larger eight-point star built from two interlaced squares. A thin circle separates it from a ring of small radiating triangles, then a band of alternating hearts and dots. A double line opens onto the widest ring, which repeats eight times around the center a sequence of hearts, spiral scrolls, pleated fan shapes, dotted triangles and slender petals, closed off by a plain double circle at the outer edge.

The linework stays fine and the shapes stay small throughout, even at the center. The outer band, dense with spirals and fans, asks for the most patience. This mandala coloring page suits teenagers and adults with steady hands more than young children, despite the category it was filed under. Expect two to three hours to fill every ring.

Save fine-tip markers or pencils for the small dotted triangles and fan pleats along the border, the tightest part of the drawing; regular pencils work fine for the center star and hearts. Start at the middle before tackling the outer detail. For this printable mandala, print at A4 on paper of at least 200 gsm so felt-tip ink won't bleed through.
