At the centre of this mandala, a tiny eight-pointed star sits inside a fine circle, ringed by a band of pointed petals. From there a large lotus flower unfolds, its layered petals striped with parallel lines and filling most of the middle of the design, with slender veined leaves tucked between the points. A further ring holds eight round medallions: four contain a stylised graphic mark, the other four a small sprig of leaves and flowers. The outer edge is neither a plain circle nor a beaded border — elongated petals and leaves interlock around it, leaving a scalloped, almost flower-shaped silhouette.

The linework is fine and the small enclosed areas are numerous, especially in the outer medallions and the striped lotus petals, so this mandala coloring page suits a steady hand more than a first attempt. The large central petals still give a few broad, restful spaces between the finer sections. Expect several sittings to complete the whole sheet.

Fine markers or a sharp coloured pencil work better than broad tips inside the medallions and symbols around the rim; start with the wide central lotus before moving out to the finer border details. For this printable mandala, A4 on heavy paper of at least 200 gsm keeps ink from bleeding through.
