Lotus Mandala #9 - Free Coloring Page

A layered lotus bloom framed by six ornate concentric rings, richly detailed.
At the center of this mandala, a tiny dot sits inside a small star-shaped flower with pointed petals, itself wrapped in a layered lotus bloom whose petals stack row upon row. Four large flame-shaped points, ruled with fine parallel lines, reach out toward the diagonals. Next comes a band of loose curls and scattered dots, then a ring of diamonds filled with fine floral stippling, and finally a border of scrolled leaves. The outer edge isn't a clean circle at all - it's a run of wide, rounded lobes, like petals themselves.
The linework stays fine and even, with a density of stippling, curls and ribs that puts this mandala coloring page toward the advanced end. The large central petals give bigger, quicker-to-fill spaces, while the stippled diamonds and the scrolled border call for a steady hand and a fine tip. Expect two to four hours depending on how many colors you use - better suited to an experienced colorist than to someone just starting out.
Start with the large central petals before tackling the stippled diamonds and the scrolled border, the thinnest areas and the ones most likely to bleed with a broad marker; a colored pencil or a 0.3mm fineliner works better there. This printable mandala looks best on thick paper, at least 200gsm, in A4 or letter size, so ink or watercolor won't show through.
