Owl Mandala #18 - Free Coloring Page

An owl's face fills the center of this mandala: two large round eyes with solid black pupils, ringed by small concentric circles and then pointed petals that sweep up into raised brow feathers meeting above the head. Below, the face is built from layered pointed feather-petals that shrink toward a pointed chin, dotted with small spirals and tiny stars. A ring of large pointed leaves surrounds the head, followed by a thinner border alternating small leaves and acorns all the way round, closed off by a plain double circle line.

The linework stays fine throughout, but the shapes vary in size: the petals across the face are broad enough for quick coloring, while the acorns and small leaves in the border call for a fine tip and patience. This mandala coloring page suits an experienced colorist better than a beginner, and takes roughly two to four hours to complete.

Start with the eyes to set the mood, then work outward while keeping pencil pressure even. Save fine-tip markers for the acorns and border, and use colored pencils for the larger facial petals. As a printable mandala, it prints best on A4 paper at 200 gsm, thick enough to hold up under marker or felt-tip ink.
