A Tibetan vajra at the center, ringed by lotus petals and knotwork.
At the heart of this mandala sits a six-armed Tibetan vajra, the ritual double-thunderbolt scepter, reduced here to a bare circle inside a thin ring. A first band of small pointed petals closes in tight around it, followed by a second band of eight larger lotus petals opening outward. Next comes a ring split into sixteen radial segments, each filled with spiral scrollwork and scalloped cloud shapes and topped by a small flame at the rim. The outer band lines up eight rectangular panels of Celtic-style interlace knots joined by scrollwork. The whole piece closes on a clean border: two thin circles and one wide black ring, with no beads and no cut edge.
The linework stays fine throughout, but density climbs sharply in the outer band, where the interlace knots pack in dozens of small enclosed spaces; the lotus petals and central medallion give the eye and the hand larger areas to rest on. This mandala coloring page suits colorists already comfortable with fine detail, more teens and adults than young children, and takes several sittings to finish without rushing the linework.
Start with the central medallion and the large lotus petals before tackling the sixteen spiral segments, where a fine-tip pen or a sharp colored pencil is needed to stay inside the smallest shapes; save the Celtic-knot band for last, since it's the trickiest part of the design. For this printable mandala, A3 paper at a heavier weight (around 200gsm) gives markers and fine liners enough room without the ink bleeding through.
