Owl Mandala #12 - Free Coloring Page

At the center of the mandala an owl faces forward: two very large round eyes with black pupils, a tiny triangular beak, an ornate tuft of feathers forming a crown on top of its head, and a chest of layered feathers that narrows to a point below. Two smaller owlets sit on its shoulders, one on each side of the chest. Just behind the head, fan-shaped points radiate outward like petals. Three concentric rings surround this medallion: a band of triangles, spirals and stars, a scalloped band dotted with small circles, and a wide outer border of flower clusters and leaves. The outer edge is a clean double circle line, with no beading or cut edges.

The linework is fine and even throughout. The largest areas to color are the owl's two eyes; everything else, the feathered chest, the geometric band and the floral border, is made of small, numerous cells. This mandala coloring page suits an experienced colorist, teen or adult, and takes several hours to complete.

For the tiny cells in the feathers and the floral border, fine-tipped markers or colored pencils keep the lines clean; start with the large eyes, then the chest, before moving outward through the rings. For printing this printable mandala, A4 paper at 200gsm or heavier holds ink well without bleed-through.
