Owl Mandala #7 - Free Coloring Page

A wide outer ring of spirals, leaves, dotted flowers and four small owls set among the foliage frames this owl mandala, closing on a clean round edge scattered with stars. At the centre, two large round eyes dominate the face, topped by curved feather tufts and a small flower, while layered petal-shaped feathers fall below the beak to form the chest. A ring of pointed petals wraps the face like a flower halo, sealed off by a thin beaded circle before the outer band.

The linework is fine and the cells are numerous around the eyes, the facial petals and the spirals of the border, so this mandala coloring page rewards a steady hand more than a beginner's. The four owls in the outer ring sit in larger spaces that colour faster. Set aside three to four hours to complete the whole disc.

Start with the eyes and the petal halo to set the owl's gaze, then work outward: the spirals and the small stars near the edge are easiest with a fine liner or a sharp pencil. For this printable mandala, print on paper of at least 200 gsm in A4, heavy enough to hold felt-tip ink without bleeding through.
