Sun Mandala #9 - Free Coloring Page

At the centre of this design, a small swirling sun sits inside a single circle, its curved rays like a miniature pinwheel. A ring of tall pointed triangles surrounds it at once, echoing the same sun shape on a larger scale. Next comes a dense band of spirals, dots, stars and thin crescent moons, followed by a ring of scrolling vines with small leaves and decorative crosses. On the outer edge, eight sun faces with heavy-lidded eyes alternate with spiral moon circles, each divided by a radial line, before a clean double circle closes the design.

The linework stays fine and even, but the shapes are small and numerous, especially in the two inner rings packed with tiny dots and spirals. This mandala coloring page suits colorists with steady hands, teens or adults, and calls for several sittings rather than one quick session.

Start with the large triangles of the central sun, quick to fill, before tackling the spirals and tiny eyes on the outer ring, the fussiest parts of the drawing. A fine liner or a sharpened pencil works better here than a broad marker. Print this printable mandala on A4 paper of at least 200gsm so felt-tip ink doesn't bleed through.
